Ladies News – July 2022

July 2022

The Summer ball started this month’s celebrations. It was a fantastic evening and congratulations to everyone involved in the organising

Following on from this we had the matrimonial cup and the club mixed foursomes with dinner on the terrace. It makes you realise that HGC is a great place to be.

On July 7th our ladies had a day out to Woolton golf club where our assistant pro Iain Robertson now works. We all enjoyed the hospitality shown by Woolton Golf Club and I’m sure we’ll be back.

Teams are playing well in the Cheshire shield matches and the A and B teams are set for the semi finals. We are also through to the semi final of the Percival trophy. Well played Heswall and Good Luck!

We had some great scores recorded at the Summer Meeting and we were all grateful to have the oasis open on such a hot day. The seniors have always upheld a tradition in our golf club to work as starters on the first tee as well as working on the oasis.

We all appreciate their time in doing this.

Heswall put a team into the  Eric Fischer Trophy held at Woolton. Iona Betteridge and I were part of the adult and junior pairs competing this year. It wasn’t Heswall’s year but a super competition.

The best news came at the end of the month.

Lucy Jamieson being picked for the England home internationals is just tremendous. The Jamieson family are off to Ireland to support Lucy in her England debut. What an achievement!

So much success this year. Let’s hope it continues!  Good golf everyone!
