Ladies Golf News – May 2022

May 2022

This month has seen so many golfing success stories.

Barbara Jamieson, Lucy Jamieson, Louise McLoughlin and Sara Spencer played in the Cheshire Championships.

Lucy won the best qualifying score.

Sara won the best senior qualifying score.

Lucy is the Cheshire ladies champion 2022.

Iona Betteridge won the Cheshire Girls Spring meeting.

The English Senior women’s Amateur championship saw Barbara getting through to the quarter finals.

At the Northern championship match play at Penrith Sara got to the quarter finals and Barbara was runner-up.

Our Spring Meeting gave us chance to celebrate these successes along with the great golf within our own ladies’ section.
Well done to everyone for participating. It’s always a pleasure to see so many Heswall ladies dressed to impress.

Our Ladies Open was a huge success too with a great turnout despite the weather. Well done to Judith Brown and Jackie Hynes for organising the event. The many ladies helping is testament to your efficiency.
The LC charity raffle raised £147.

Heswall Ladies are always reliable, well organised and willing to help. Thanks to everyone who participates, organises and volunteers.

Pat Davis has kindly sent through some beautiful tea towels for the oasis. Our thanks go to Pat and also to the ladies who may not be able to play any longer but who support the club.

Congratulations  to Lucy coming second in the prestigious St Rule Trophy at St Andrews.

And finally it was great to see Rachael making the cut in Belgium and finishing 23rd, after an impressive final round.

I’m looking forward to playing golf on our fantastic course in sunny June.
